In high school, my friend and future horse inseminator gave me a black cat. It wasn't a kitten, it wasn't a queen, but something in between. I remember her pulling up to my house in her old convertible Corvette that smelled like a perfumery. Screeching to a halt, she got out. Her hair was frizzy and she had a crooked smile. Under her arm was a box. “I have something for you,” she said. The cat had terrible dandruff. We washed it vigorously with chemically enriched shampoo in the bathroom sink while she made unearthly noises and hissed at the blow dryer. Eventually she was clean and her coat was shimmering. I never asked my friend where she got the cat because I didn’t care. She had big black eyes and a long tail. I named her Midnight. She was my shadow and at night she was a savage. One-Handed Witch is like my black cat. She descends on Salem, MA, August 16-17 with savagery.
As predictable as a blood moon, One-Handed Witch descends on Salem, MA in less than three weeks. Come see One-Handed Witch!
A fiery witch loses her hand to an angry mob, tames wild beasts in the forest, and starts hustling small town folk and casinos out of all their money, with one hand.
One-Handed Witch is touring through August or until I break another bone. See the dates and places below. I’m making unearthly noises of excitement for these shows.
August 16-17 at Old Town Hall in Salem, MA
You read that right. There is one tour stop. One more show for One-Handed Witch and then the coffin closes and everything turns to ash.
How does the Hiss pay for cat food? Ticket sales. If you live within a day's journey to Salem, MA come out! The Hiss is flying coast to coast for this performance; on a broom, in a headwind, with a carry-on full of musical instruments.
One-Handed Witch, the silent film with shadow puppets and live musical score descends on Salem, August 16-17. Early Bird ticket sales end June 28! Come see One-Handed Witch at the historic Old Town Hall (where the classic Halloween party from Hocus Pocus was filmed).
